Witness

Witness

Who watches? Who breathes?
My words through creaks.

My breaths are hissings,
gasping throats, panting lungs,
sighing shoulders, beating songs.

Who watches? Who listens?
My consciousness withers.

My sounds are screeches,
my scream breaches
the air; hollow like ditches.

Who watches? Who feels?
My heart squeals.

My soul fears
my kingdom disappears.
The thumping clears.
